Campaign Announcement

Bobby Gutierrez Formally Kicks Off Campaign for Mayor of Bryan

September 21, 2026

Today, I want to formally kick off our campaign for Mayor of the City of Bryan.

When I filed for reelection, that served as my official announcement, but I really had not taken the opportunity to publicly launch the campaign or properly thank everyone who has reached out since then.

Becky and I have been overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of encouragement, support, prayers, calls, messages, and offers to help. It means more to us than I can adequately express, and I want to begin this campaign by simply saying thank you.

After a great deal of thought, prayer, and many conversations together, we made the decision to continue this journey because we believe there is still important work underway and much more to accomplish for Bryan.

Public service is demanding. The job does not stop at 5:00. It means mornings, nights, weekends, meetings, phone calls, travel, and time away from family and business. There is a very real personal and financial sacrifice that comes with serving this community the way I believe it deserves to be served.

But when I look at Bryan and everything that has happened over the last decade, I am reminded why the work matters.

We have seen tremendous growth in economic development, jobs, workforce development, infrastructure, public safety, and quality of life. Projects that once seemed impossible are becoming reality, and there is still much more underway and in the pipeline.

Every decision made by the Mayor and City Council has helped shape the Bryan we know today. We also recognize that not every decision has been perfect, and when something needs to be corrected, we take responsibility for it. We are working through the process and timeline necessary to get those issues back on track while continuing to move Bryan forward.

At the same time, look at what we have accomplished together.

Hundreds of successes have improved lives throughout Bryan and strengthened our community's future. Our city is well positioned to attract new businesses, create jobs, expand opportunity, and continue building a community where families and businesses can succeed.

None of this happened because of one person.

It has taken years of work by mayors, councils, city staff, community leaders, businesses, and citizens who believed in Bryan. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, and the decisions we make today will shape this city for generations to come.

I have always believed we should make decisions not just for the next election or the next budget year, but for the Bryan we want to see 10, 20, 50, and even 100 years from now.

That means continuing to be fiscally responsible, maintaining a low tax rate, investing in infrastructure and essential services, protecting public safety, encouraging economic development, and creating an environment where businesses can grow and families can build their futures.

There is still more work to do.

There are projects we have worked on for years that are now close to becoming reality. There are opportunities in front of Bryan today that could shape this community for generations. After a lot of reflection, I simply do not believe my work is finished.

I have always tried to live by one simple philosophy:

Leave it better than you found it.

That is what I have tried to do in business, in our community, and throughout my years of service to Bryan.

Becky and I understand the sacrifice that comes with this decision, but we also understand what an incredible honor it has been to serve a community that has given our family so much.

The continued encouragement and support we have received means more to Becky and me than I can adequately express. We are thankful for every call, message, prayer, contribution, sign location, and offer to help.

Serving the people of Bryan has truly been one of the greatest honors of our lives.

We are grateful for the trust that has been placed in us, proud of what Bryan has accomplished together, and committed to continuing the work of leaving this city better than we found it.

If you would like to learn more about the campaign, make a contribution, volunteer, help raise awareness, host an event, or find another way to get involved, everything is available here on the website.

Yard signs are also available now at House Of Tires, or you can send us a message and we can arrange to have one delivered to your home or business.

God bless,
Bobby Gutierrez
